GENERAL OBJECTIVE
To train researchers in the field of Science Teaching with a critical and creative vision of the forms of teaching and learning that allow them to qualify education processes at different levels.
To consolidate research groups in science didactics in order to promote research in this area.
ESPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- To contribute to the training of master´s graduates in Science Teaching with a critical and creative vision of the forms of teaching and learning, which will allow them to produce qualification processes in education in the different education levels.
- To train professionals competent in the elaboration, implementation and evaluation of didactic proposals for science teaching.
- To contribute to the transformation of teaching and learning processes in the field of sciences.
- To develop skills in students to undertake the systematization of didactic experiences and design didactic units, which generate a culture of written production, publication and public debate.
AIMET AT
Teachers-researchers in all knowledge areas and education level and professionals interested in teaching.
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILE
Graduates of the Master in Science Teaching will be able to undertake the practice of teaching and research related to teaching and learning processes in the field of science, in different levels of education and different areas of concentration. Graduates will be able to undertake the science teaching based on the pedagogical and didactic principles adequate for any education level.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Graduates of the Master in Science Teaching will have a profound knowledge of didactics as a scientific discipline and its multiple applications in education. They will also acquire a wide knowledge of the overview of research in the field of science teaching.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
- Photocopy of ID card enlarged by 150 %, blood type classification (if not in the ID card).
- Photocopy of degree certificate or professional qualification.
- Current health insurance card or a valid certificate of adhesion to a social security system.
- Photocopy of military service ID card enlarged by150% (where appropriate).
- 2 ID-size photographs (on a blue background).
- Receipt of payment.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- The necessary degree or diploma according to the demands of each program.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Interview
- Knowledge assessment where deemed appropriate by the Autonoma University of Manizales.
- For doctoral programs, proficiency in English reading comprehension.
- Specific requirements outlined by each program as approved by the Academic Council.
Additional requirements for the admission of national and foreign students with an undergraduate degree obtained abroad
- Copy of passport for students without a Colombian ID card.
- Spanish translation by an official translator of documents submitted in another language.
- Certificates and diplomas must have the Apostille stamp issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin or by the body in charge of this process, according to the Hague Convention. In the case of countries that do not belong to the Hague Convention, certificates and diplomas must be authenticated or bear the seal of the consul of Colombia in the country of origin, and be countersigned by the Colombian Foreign Ministry.
- Student visa or a valid document for the corresponding academic period or a valid immigration card/resident card/ green card issued by the Colombian Administrative Department of Security (DAS) or the entity in charge of this process.
- Certificate of Compulsory Health Insurance in Colombia or health insurance certificate from the country of origin.
